This position is devoted to providing paraprofessional engineering support, inspection and professional civil engineering for a variety of public works and environmental functions and projects. Incumbents perform specialized engineering work requiring the professional applications in the planning design, construction, inspection and/or coordination of projects.

Provides engineering and design work and coordinates engineering support and project activities; reviews plans, design and project work to ensure compliance with applicable code, specifications, requirements, regulations and standards
Manages, coordinates, and oversees projects. Develops design scope and associated budget, reviews and evaluates project progress and status, and arranges review meetings
Responds to inquiries and issues to provides troubleshooting. Conducts site visits and inspections, performs facility/equipment assessments, researches, investigates, analyzes and identifies issues, and recommends and implements solutions
Prepares and/or reviews plans, contracts, change orders, resource estimates, bid documents, proposal requests, project closeout documentation and various reports
Attends meetings with technical review and advisory committees, Council, staff, developers, engineers and other project stakeholders. Facilitates and presents at public meetings, including preparing agenda items, presentations and meeting materials and providing status reporting updates
Maintains project/program documentation, standards documentation, databases, files, records and reports
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; 1 to 3 years' experience in architecture, interior design, engineering, construction management or related work

Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted
Coordinating deadlines, prioritizing work demands and monitoring technical operations
Providing project management, organization and logistics coordination
Monitoring compliance with applicable plans, standards, regulations and contracts
Troubleshooting equipment and operational issues
Identifying engineering-related deficiencies and recommending solutions
Researching industry trends, solutions and best practices
Researching technical issues and articulating recommendations
Monitoring, evaluating and assessing engineering projects and functional operations
Interpreting and applying applicable laws, codes, regulations and standards
Providing customer service
Utilizing a computer and relevant software applications
Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
Medium: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work is typically performed in an office or similar environment, an outdoor environment, a street environment (near moving traffic) and in or around vehicles. Employees may occasionally work at a construction site.
Employees may occasionally interact with individuals who are hostile or irate, extreme heat (above 100 degrees), fumes or airborne particles and loud noises.
