Job summary

Movement Search & Delivery is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for pressure vessels, heavy equipment, and structural steel systems across diverse industrial environments.

You will collaborate with field operations, project teams, and clients to deliver safe, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (required).
• PE license preferred.
• 5+ years' experience in industrial construction/manufacturing/power generation or similar heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of ASME pressure vessel codes and AISC structural steel standards.
• Experience developing lift plans and rigging designs for heavy equipment.

Job description

A growing industrial services and construction organization is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Structural Engineer to support complex projects involving pressure vessels, heavy industrial equipment, structural steel systems, lifting operations, and rigging design. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects across a variety of industrial environments while collaborating closely with field operations, project teams, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design, analysis, and review for pressure vessels, mechanical systems, structural steel structures, and heavy lift projects.
• Develop detailed lift plans and rigging designs for the safe transportation, installation, and maintenance of large industrial equipment and structures.
• Perform engineering calculations related to rigging, lifting, structural integrity, stress analysis, and equipment loading.
• Review and prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and codes.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, transportation, construction, and field installation activities.
• Evaluate materials, welding procedures, and inspection requirements for structural and mechanical systems.
• Conduct site visits and field assessments to verify engineering requirements and support project execution.
• Partner with project managers, field personnel, contractors, and clients to identify solutions and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Manage technical reports, engineering documentation, lift plans, and project deliverables.
• Support project scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and safety initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering experience within industrial construction, manufacturing, power generation, petrochemical, steel, or similar heavy industrial environments.
• Strong working knowledge of ASME pressure vessel codes and AISC structural steel standards.
• Experience developing lift plans and rigging designs for heavy equipment installations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or comparable engineering design software.
• Knowledge of welding processes, material selection, non-destructive testing (NDT), and structural analysis.
• Familiarity with OSHA construction standards and industrial safety requirements.
• Experience with project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Ability to travel to project sites and work in industrial environments, including elevated work areas and confined spaces when required.
