Job summary

FANUC America Corporation seeks an engineer to deliver technical support to integrators and end users in the FAC Central region, developing skills and driving regional growth. You will manage software and controls expertise while assisting District Managers with sales support to enable profit growth.

The ideal candidate focuses on customer solutions, robotics automation, and hands-on problem-solving across hardware, software, and vision systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in engineering and integration of industrial robotics automation systems.
  • Ability to read electrical and controls prints.
  • Ability to support Sales and Applications Engineering with engineering expertise using strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and visit key accounts; train and strengthen customer skills.
  • Build relationships with regional ASI network and end users to improve robot sales through training and application assistance.
  • Work with Central execution team to ensure project success and sales outcomes.
  • Provide product and system expertise in robot hardware, software, machine vision, and safety.
  • Use SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FANUC tools to support customer applications.
  • Promote ROBOGUIDE and other pre-engineering tools.
  • Address issues with setup and integration of robot options.
  • Document support requests with detailed resolutions and customer data.
  • Support customers with Vision Evaluations and troubleshooting iRVision systems.
  • Join sales calls when high-level technical support is needed.

Who You Are

The Engineer will provide technical support to the integrators and end users in the FANUC America Corporation (FAC) Central region* including developing, training, and strengthening customers’ technical skills.

This position will manage, organize, and administer high level software & controls expertise while assisting FANUC District Managers with various sales support requests to enable continued regional unit and profit growth.

The Engineer will provide technical support to the integrators and end users in the FANUC America Corporation (FAC) Central region* including developing, training, and strengthening customers’ technical skills.

This position will manage, organize, and administer high level software & controls expertise while assisting FANUC District Managers with various sales support requests to enable continued regional unit and profit growth.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused problem-solver with a “Service First” mindset who has a background in automation and/or robotics engineering.

How It’s Done
  • Identify and visit key, new, or competitor ASI and End User accounts in the region; build relationships with engineering, management and ownership by spending time training and strengthening customer skillsets.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with regional ASI network and regional end users to improve robot sales through training, technology transfer, and application assistance both in-house and on-site; develop a deep understanding of the ASIs products, customers, and goals.
  • Work as part of the Central execution team to ensure success of projects and product plus sales.
  • Assist internal and external customers by providing product and system expertise, in areas such as robot hardware and software, machine vision, and system safety.
  • Use SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FANUC simulation software to assist internal and external customers in the application of robotic automation solutions.
  • Promote the use of ROBOGUIDE, Payload Checker and other pre-engineering tools.
  • Work with all customers to address issues associated with the setup and integration of both common and higher-end robot options.
  • Track and document any/all support requests providing detailed resolutions and appropriate customer information.
  • Support customers with Vision Evaluations and troubleshooting their existing iRVision systems.
  • Accompany sales team on sales calls when a high level of technical support is required.
What You Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in the engineering and integration of industrial robotics automation systems.
  • Ability to read electrical and controls prints.
  • Ability to interact and support Sales and Applications Engineering with engineering expertise using strong interpersonal skills in listening, speaking and written communication.
What Would Be Even Better
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering and integration of industrial robotics automation systems with strong knowledge of industrial robotic automation.
  • 3+ years of experience with PLC programming experience (Rockwell/AB, Siemens, etc.).
  • Experience with FANUC robot TPP programming, ROBOGUIDE Software; Python, KAREL, Java, and HTML programming; FANUC IRVision, PalletTool, and iRPicktool
  • Experience with other machine vision systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, 2D, SolidWorks, and 3D industry standard drawing practices.
  • Ability to design control panels, electrical schematics, I/O diagrams, and pneumatic schematics.
