Job summary

Main & Vine is seeking a Hotel Engineer to help preserve the building’s operational condition and functionality, working autonomously and with attention to detail. The role partners with the Chief Engineer to maintain electrical, heating, plumbing, and safety standards across the property.

The position requires a practical, hands-on approach, capacity to handle repairs, preventative maintenance programs, and coordination with Housekeeping to ensure guest rooms are functioning properly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
• General knowledge of maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Good problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Significant attention to detail
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Report directly to Chief Engineer/Maintenance Supervisor
• Survey building and repair mechanical systems to ensure health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of all electrical systems
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Perform manual repairs (doors, locks, windows)
• Conduct ongoing room preventative maintenance program
• Resolve maintenance problems, complaints and work orders
• General upkeep (landscaping, caulking, painting)
• Carpentry and painting, drywall and carpet repair work
• Inspect property to identify needs
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Chief Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor
• Work with Housekeeping to ensure guest room equipment functions properly and is part of maintenance program
• Adhere to company standards and policies

Hotel Engineer

The hotel Engineer has the responsibility of working with the Chief to preserve the building's overall operational condition and functionality. This role requires a thorough professional with a practical approach and attention to detail that can work both autonomously and responsibly, while maintaining the building and common areas in the best possible condition and observing all health and safety guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

• Report directly to Chief Engineer/Maintenance Supervisor
• Survey building and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of all electrical systems
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (repair/replace door locks, replace window fixtures/windows, etc.)
• Conduct ongoing room preventative maintenance program.
• Resolving maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders.
• General upkeep as directed (i.e. landscaping, caulking, painting, etc.)
• Working knowledge of carpentry and painting as well as drywall and carpet repair work
• Inspecting property to identify potential and current needs.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Chief Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor
• Work with Housekeeping to ensure all equipment within the guest rooms are functioning properly and are a part of an effective preventative maintenance program.
• Adheres to all company Standard/Conduct policies and procedures

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of related experience or
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the above skills, knowledge, and abilities
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
• General knowledge of maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
• Good problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Significant attention to detail
• Flexible schedule, including but not limited to the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
