Job summary

DoubleTree by Hilton Augusta, operated by StepStone Hospitality, is seeking a skilled Engineer to maintain safety, functionality, and appearance of the property in Augusta, Georgia. The role covers preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure reliable hotel systems and guest comfort.

Qualifications

• High school education and relevant training and experience preferred.
• CPR training and first aid training preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Replace air conditioner filters and assist with routine maintenance tasks.
• Repair air conditioners, cooling towers, and boilers to provide heat, cooling, and hot water for guests.
• Maintain standards of quality guest service.
• Tend to pool area including chemical balancing and cleaning.
• Support guest satisfaction through proactive service and teamwork.
• Respond to guest requests and maintenance issues in a courteous and timely manner.

At DoubleTree by Hilton Augusta, we are committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through quality service, comfort, and attention to detail. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of our property.

In this role, the Engineer will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing repairs across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. This position requires a proactive, hands-on professional who takes pride in ensuring all hotel systems operate efficiently while supporting a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and team members.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of general maintenance practices, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, along with the ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational needs.

• Assist with maintaining hotel, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
• Replace air conditioner filters.
• Ability to repairair conditioners, cooling towers, and boilers to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.
• Maintain standards of quality guest service.
• Tend to pool area including chemical balancing, cleaning, etc.
• Increase the level of guest satisfaction by delivery of an exceptional product through employee development.
• Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.

Requirements

• Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
• Must have knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
• Must have good mathematical and computer skills.
• High school education and relevant training and experience preferred.
• CPR training and first aid training preferred.
• Additional language ability is preferred.
