Manufacturing / Tooling Engineer
Job Summary
The Manufacturing / Tooling Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements. This role plays a key part in optimizing production efficiency, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring product designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with operational capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes based on customer specifications
- Support development, debugging, and continuous improvement of tooling and production processes
- Analyze and improve manufacturing systems and workflows for efficiency and cost reduction
- Determine root causes of failures and recommend improvements to designs, tolerances, or processes
- Troubleshoot issues related to product design, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Review product designs for manufacturability, accuracy, and completeness
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve product performance
- Research and implement new technologies, methods, and processes
- Design, install, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment
- Communicate production capabilities, timelines, and technical information to support operations
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
- 2–5 years of related experience in manufacturing, tooling, or process engineering
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in systems analysis and process improvement
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
- Ability to research and implement new technologies
- Strong technical design and engineering skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Manufacturing/industrial setting with exposure to machinery and production operations
- Requires collaboration with production, engineering, and management teams
