Job summary

Power Solutions International (PSI) is seeking an Engineering Technician II to support engine testing and development in a lab environment. You will instrument test articles, install engines and components on test stands, and assist in data collection and analysis for engine development and validation.

The role requires a two-year technical degree in automotive technology, 3+ years of relevant experience, and knowledge of dynamometer systems.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in automotive technology or related field.
• 3+ years of engine development or automotive testing.
• ASE or similar certifications preferred.
• Strong understanding of internal combustion theory.
• Experience with engine dynamometer testing equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; data acquisition experience preferred.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Welding and metal fabrication skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Setup and instrumentation of test articles.
• Fabrication of test fixtures and hardware.
• Install engines/components onto test stands.
• Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
• Interface with data acquisition systems.
• Develop test procedures and document results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on issues.
• Assist in standardizing testing methods.
• Perform engine teardown, inspections, and basic measurements.
