Job summary

Nexio Power in the United States, based in Texas, seeks a hands-on test technician to operate and maintain fired-engine dynamometer test cells for engine performance, durability, calibration, and validation. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of relevant experience in engine testing, engine building, or automotive, diesel, or heavy-equipment repair.
• Demonstrated engine diagnostic, mechanical troubleshooting, and repair capabilities.
• Ability to follow technical manuals, schematics, written test plans, and safety procedures.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to use or learn data-acquisition and test automation software.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment during off-hours response.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, monitor, and safely shut down fired-engine dynamometer tests in accordance with established procedures and test plans.
• Install, remove, and configure engines and associated fuel, cooling, exhaust, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
• Conduct steady-state and transient engine durability test cycles while monitoring critical operating parameters and systems.
• Collect, verify, and document test data; identify abnormal operating conditions and communicate findings to engineering and operations leadership.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair engines and test-cell systems, including engine disassembly, inspection, rebuilding, component replacement, and complete engine changes as required.
• Inspect, calibrate, and maintain test-cell instrumentation, sensors, and data-acquisition systems in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate test records, engine build documentation, equipment maintenance histories, and related documentation.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized test cells while complying with applicable safety, environmental, and emergency response procedures.
• Support after-hours alerts and callouts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as assigned.
