Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a technically curious intern to join the data science group working on engine test data and validation support. You will assist with building models, analyses, and dashboards to forecast risk factors and improve testing efficiency.

You will learn about aircraft engine systems, contribute to knowledge assets, and collaborate with engineers across programs while gaining practical experience in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Active enrollment through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain predictive models to forecast risk factors.
• Apply statistical models to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in engine validation datasets to extract actionable insights.
• Design and implement data visualization dashboards and reports to communicate findings effectively.
• Develop and publish new knowledge assets within EKS (ESW, K-Packs, GB, training, etc.)
• Communicate results and insights to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.

What You Will Do:

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Programming experience in Python, R, or similar languages.
• Experience with data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases.
• Knowledge of aircraft engine systems and validation processes.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
