Job summary

Honda is seeking an Engineering Technician to support safe, efficient engine and component testing. You will prepare engines, configure test cells, operate dynamometers, and monitor data to meet development objectives.

You must have 3+ years hands-on mechanical or technical experience in automotive testing, familiarity with dynamometers, data acquisition systems, and AVL PUMA, with strong safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical or technical experience in automotive, motorsports, powertrain development, testing, or a related environment.
• Experience with engine/chassis dynamometers, component test rigs, or similar test equipment, including setup, operation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of internal combustion engines, mechanical systems, instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition, and test-control systems such as AVL PUMA.
• Proficient with mechanical and precision measurement tools, basic electrical diagnostic equipment, and Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, teamwork, accountability, and detail, with the flexibility to work in a dynamic test environment.

Responsibilities

• Test Preparation: Prepare engines, components, test articles, and test systems for testing; install and configure test hardware and fixtures.
• Test Execution: Operate dynamometer test cells and data acquisition systems; monitor parameters and data quality; troubleshoot issues.
• Test Cell Development & Maintenance: Maintain test cells and equipment; perform routine maintenance and implement improvements.
• Reporting & Documentation: Record test configurations and results; ensure data quality and compliance with procedures.
