Job summary

U-Haul is seeking an Engine Specialist to inspect, diagnose, and repair engines and related systems in our Burlington, WA location. The role offers hourly pay, a chance to work with a large fleet of trucks, and opportunities for hands-on training to advance technical skills.

Responsibilities include engine overhaul, preventive maintenance, and precise adjustments using standard shop tools. A valid driver's license and safety-conscious approach are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
• Adhere to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving.

Responsibilities

• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts.
• Overhaul and repair engines or motors; disassemble engines and repair or replace defective parts; reassemble engines and make adjustments as needed; use oxygen-acetylene, electro arc-welding or similar types of equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, maintain and repair engines, and oil and lubricate engine and chassis.
• Install timing gears, crankshafts, bearings, cylinders, and drive systems.
• Must have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.
