U-Haul is seeking an Engine Specialist (Mechanic) to diagnose and repair gasoline engines in our truck fleet. You will inspect, disassemble, repair, and reassemble engines, performing preventive maintenance and adjustments as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or equivalent, own their tools, and can work well in a team environment. The position is based in Warwick, RI, and involves safe operation of commercial vehicles under state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Diagnose mechanical and drivability problems in engines.
• Repair or replace engine parts and related components.
• Must have good communication skills and work as part of a team.
• Team members may assist in additional areas as directed by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Determine vehicle condition by inspections and tests; identify worn parts.
• Overhaul and repair engines; disassemble, replace parts, reassemble and adjust.
• Perform preventive maintenance, lubricate engines and chassis; install timing gears and bearings.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with teammates.
• Assist in additional areas as directed by supervisor.
