U-Haul is seeking an Engine Specialist to inspect, diagnose, and repair engines and related components on our fleet. The role involves overhauling engines, disassembling and replacing defective parts, and performing preventive maintenance to keep trucks and trailers in peak condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record for operating commercial vehicles.
• Experience or ability to inspect, diagnose, and repair engines and related components.

Responsibilities

• Determine vehicle condition by inspections and diagnostic tests.
• Identify worn and damaged parts.
• Overhaul and repair engines or motors.
• Disassemble engines and repair or replace defective parts.
• Reassemble engines and make adjustments as needed.
• Use oxygen-acetylene, arc welding or similar equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and lubricate engines and chassis.
• Install timing gears, crankshafts, bearings, cylinders, and drive systems.
