Job summary

Duncan Aviation in Provo, UT is seeking an Engine Line Technician to assist in inspection, troubleshooting, repair and testing of aircraft engines, systems and components, following manufacturer specs and Duncan Aviation procedures.

You will document work performed, support FAA compliance, and may qualify as an Inspector. The role requires high school diploma, A&P preferred, powerplant certificate, valid driver's license, and willingness to travel as needed.

  • Fork Lift qualified; crane certification; tool inventory per dept tool list required.
  • Ability to obtain QI designation as company needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining engines, systems and components.
  • Order required parts accurately as needed.
  • Prepare documents for policy and FAA regulations, and record discrepancies and actions.
  • Provide on-the-job training to less experienced technicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

The Engine Line Technician, assists with inspecting, troubleshooting, adjusting, repairing and other general tasks related to the maintenance and repair of aircraft engines, systems and components on a variety of engines, using Personal Protection Equipment, in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer's specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications. In addition, this position prepares and completes appropriate documentation and training logs in a timely manner; and may perform as a Qualified Inspector (QI).

Essential Job Functions
  1. With limited supervision, assists in high quality inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining of aircraft engines, systems and components on a variety of aircraft engines using proper tooling in a timely, clean, safe and professional manner. Accurately orders required parts as needed.
  2. With limited supervision, prepares various documents required by Company policy and FAA regulations. Demonstrates proficiency of Duncan Aviation work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives (AD), and compliance statements.
  3. Locates and uses appropriate technical data, follows verbal instructions and accepts directions from other shop personnel when accomplishing assigned maintenance tasks. May provide OJT to less experienced technicians.
  4. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Job Specific Requirements

Licenses/Certificates: Powerplant certificate required, A&P Preferred; Mobile and Overhead Crane Certification; Fork Lift qualified; Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; tool inventory per department tool list required; Able to obtain QI designation as company needs.

Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; overnight and short notice travel required

Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting

Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments

Education and Experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • A&P preferred, Powerplant Certificate required.
