Job summary

Amentum in Dearborn, MI seeks a Test Engineer for the Dearborn Engine Laboratory to conduct dynamometer-based tests on gasoline and diesel engines. The role requires coordinating test set-ups, documenting requirements, and ensuring quality throughout testing.

The position is based in Dearborn with an afternoon shift after initial day-shift training, focusing on powertrain calibration, data analysis, and test methodology development.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• 1+ years of experience in powertrain calibration/development and testing.
• Data analysis experience required.
• Basic electronics troubleshooting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams in design, deployment and start-up for engine test facilities.
• Project management to meet quality, timing and financial objectives.
• Provide troubleshooting support for site maintenance and process improvements.
• Develop test procedures, facilities, and equipment for powertrain development.
