Job summary

BorgWarner seeks a dedicated technician to set up gas stands and engine dynamometers, perform tests, and prepare engineering reports. You will interpret data, ensure equipment calibration, and support safety and quality policies in a lab environment.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using precision measuring tools, and maintaining documentation. A relevant engineering degree or automotive lab experience is preferred; health, safety, and 6S participation are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in engineering preferred; or related automotive education/experience.
• Equivalent mechanical powertrain experience with 2 years in R&D or testing if no degree.
• Experience in general machining and fabrication, including basic welding.
• Experience in professional automotive powertrain test environments; ability to read drawings.
• Proficiency with indicators, micrometers, and dial calipers and lab software.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform gas stands, engine dynamometer, and bench tests.
• Prepare engineering reports and present data to Engineering.
• Read instructions and obtain procedures to fulfill customer requests.
• Measure hardware with proper tools and interpret data.
• Perform system-level performance, durability, and component testing.
• Maintain logbooks and testing notes; assist in calibration and maintenance.
• Adhere to health, safety, and quality policies; participate in 6S activities.
