Job summary

Advatix, Inc. seeks a Control Systems Engineer in Chillicothe, IL to design, develop, and validate electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices aimed at optimizing engine performance and emissions. You will join the Large Engine Controls team within the Large Power Systems Division (LPSD).

The role emphasizes collaboration, advanced control theory, and the development of simulation frameworks in Matlab/Simulink and GT-Power to guide engine control decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
• Proficiency in classical control theory for MIMO in time and frequency domains.
• Experience developing engine control systems for gas, diesel, and dual-fuel engines (aftertreatment).
• Advanced Matlab/Simulink expertise with GT-Power engine models for control design.
• Modeling dynamic systems with physics-based and black-box approaches; system identification.
• Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts to teams and suppliers.
• Experience with product development processes (NPI, NTI, CPI).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with process partners to develop and refine engine control system requirements.
• Design and evaluate control features using frequency- and time-domain methods in MIMO systems.
• Develop and maintain Matlab/Simulink and GT-Power MiL simulations for control algorithms.
• Deliver timely, high-quality simulation-driven design recommendations to stakeholders.
