Job summary

Qualifications

• MINIMUM EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Master’s degree in Speech or Communications or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Speech/Communications
• Two years (or more) of related experience in communication or a related field
• Knowledge of teaching methodologies/pedagogical strategies
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Possess good time management skills

Responsibilities

• Actively engage students in the learning process
• Teach classes during the fall and spring semesters as required by the department
• including online courses
• Partner with the dual credit department to ensure dual credit student retention and success
• Participate in college service, which includes committee work, advising and tutoring students, and recruiting
• Utilize educational software and online learning management systems to create engaging and effective learning experiences
• Maintain ethical and professional behavior
• Maintain knowledge of and adherence to TSUS and LIT Policies
• Provide mentorship to dual credit partners/mentees
• Attend Teaching and Learning Center sessions to enhance teaching skills
• Stay abreast of national matters and trends in education
• Participate in assessment activities for the LIT Core Curriculum
• Assist in the development of curriculum as needed
