Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont seeks a part-time Instructor of Speech to teach Public Speaking/Speech courses. Responsibilities include engaging students, attending faculty meetings, and completing necessary trainings.
The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in Communication or Speech, with a preference for teaching experience in higher education and a doctorate degree. Good verbal and written communication skills are required for effective instruction.

The Instructor of Speech’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing instruction for students enrolled in Public Speaking/Speech courses at the Lamar Institute of Technology. This position reports directly to the Department Chair of General Education and is a part‑time, exempt position. Hours vary depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend classes. This is not a posting for regular adjunct instructors. Classes will be delivered at the Sam Houston State University Campus.
This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
