Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• ESL Certification required for all ELA teachers.
• Knowledge of subjects assigned.
• General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement.
• Ability to deliver instruction and manage student behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Student teaching or approved internship

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and show evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for different learning styles.
• Present subject matter per TEA guidelines and board policies.
• Plan instructional activities using appropriate strategies and materials for student needs.
• Assess student learning preferences and use results to plan activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Coordinate with staff to plan instructional goals and methods.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen teaching and learning.
• Assist students in improving study methods and habits.
• Evaluate student achievement and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Lead extracurricular activities as assigned.
