Job summary

Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library seeks enthusiastic Museum Guides to lead pre-selected rooms, present introductory, seasonal, and topic tours, and develop personal tours after training. You’ll join ongoing learning via monthly meetings and collection study, connecting themes from the Garden to engage a diverse audience while ensuring visitor safety and tour quality.

The role offers part-time hours (21–29 weekly), with weekend availability and some holidays.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years in forward-facing customer service.
• Experience in teaching or interpreting preferred.
• Able to engage diverse audiences and adapt to visitor needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent understanding of the museum collection for visitors up to 11, tailoring interpretations by age and knowledge level.
• Lead walking tours up to 2 hours and stationary segments up to 6 hours for self-paced tours.
• Deliver engaging interpretations highlighting history, global culture, and the Winterthur Story.
