One of a Kind Kids at UNM’s Main campus in Albuquerque is seeking a compassionate Math Tutor for Kindergarten through 6th grade. This in-person role requires a Work-Study award and enrollment in a UNM degree program.

The tutor will provide individualized support, covering number sense to fractions, while fostering a positive attitude toward math and communicating with families as needed.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree-seeking program at UNM.
• Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) for fall and spring semesters.
• If Work Study, must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Responsabilités

• Provide one-on-one or small-group math tutoring to K-6th grade.
• Support foundational math skills across topics (number sense to geometry).
• Help students strengthen problem-solving and independent learning skills.
• Adapt lessons and pacing to individual student needs.
• Create a patient, encouraging, non-judgmental learning environment.
• Help students build confidence and develop a positive attitude toward mathematics.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and support team as appropriate.
• Track student progress and communicate observations.
• Prepare engaging, age-appropriate learning activities.
• Maintain professional boundaries and protect student privacy.
