Job summary

Beaufort County Schools Washington High School in Washington, NC, is seeking a Science or Math Teacher for a January 4, 2027 start. The role requires eligibility for a NC teaching license and a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.

The teacher reports to the Principal and may supervise teacher assistants. Responsibilities include planning effective instruction, managing time and behavior, monitoring student progress and providing feedback, and coordinating instructional activities

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related area qualifying for NC licensure.
Eligibility to obtain a North Carolina teaching license is required.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize and present instruction and instructional environments to support student learning.
Manage instructional time to keep lessons on task and on schedule.
Establish classroom routines to promote positive behavior and engagement.
Present instruction with clear objectives, examples and checks for understanding.
Monitor student progress using assessments and provide timely feedback.
Facilitate instruction aligned with curricular goals and available resources.
Interact effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and the school community.
Perform non-instructional duties as required and adhere to district policies.
