Johnston County Public Schools seeks an EC Teacher for the General Curriculum in Smithfield, NC. The role reports to the Principal and supervises teacher assistants as needed.

Immediate starting date with ongoing posting until filled and duties include planning instruction, managing time and behavior, delivering lessons, monitoring student progress, and providing feedback. Minimum training requires a degree in education or related area qualifying for NC DPI licensure.

Qualifications

• Degree in education or in a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools.
• Data Conception: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge data, etc.
• Interpersonal Communication: Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey information.
• Language Ability: Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondence, reports, handbooks, forms, etc.

Responsibilities

• MAJOR FUNCTION: Management of Instructional Time — have materials ready at start and maintain student time-on-task.
• MAJOR FUNCTION: Management of Student Behavior — establish rules and monitor behavior.
• MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional Presentation — present lessons clearly and pace appropriately.
• MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance — monitor progress and use work products to check performance.
• MAJOR FUNCTION: Instructional Feedback — provide prompt feedback on in-class and out-of-class work.
• MAJOR FUNCTION: Facilitating Instruction — align objectives, strategies, and assessments.
