Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; business school or some college preferred.
• Excellent human relations skills with a friendly personality, especially with high school students.
• Knowledge of classroom management; prioritizing; ability to exercise initiative and discretion.
• Must be able to assist students with classroom assignments.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Campus Director at start of the school day and return materials at the end of the day.
• Carry out the lesson plans and prescribed program by the classroom teacher.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and objectives as per lesson plans.
• Employ instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting objectives.
• Maintain a neat, orderly classroom and take attendance per procedures.
• Communicate basic expectations for behavior at class start; follow district policies.
• Ensure students are never left unattended in the classroom.
• Know evacuation routes and procedures for referring disciplinary problems.
