Qualifications

• Must communicate clearly with people of all ages
• Must read and write English; follow instructions
• Flexible hours including weekends/evenings
• Two years of experience in retirement living or home care is required
• Associates’ Degree required; Bachelor’s preferred
• Driver’s license required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning and implementation of activities for residents
• Supervise activities assistants and contribute to performance evaluations
• Assist with care planning and maintain progress notes
• Lead one-on-one and group activities; prepare spaces and materials
• Complete documentation such as attendance records and logs
• Coordinate monthly newsletters and bulletin boards
• Evaluate effectiveness of activities and resident participation
• Attend resident/family council meetings and support residents’ rights
• Administer a volunteer program
• Participate in training and professional development
