Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in the Deerfield/Northbrook area. You will lead fun, interactive chess classes for elementary students, guided by our structured curriculum and safety protocols.

The role offers a flexible, part-time schedule (1–5 classes per week) with classes typically in the 2:00 PM–5:00 PM window and mileage reimbursement for travel between sites. Begin with comprehensive training and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently and keep sessions engaging.
• Strong knowledge of chess fundamentals and ability to explain basics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using structured curriculum.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment and safety protocols.
• Travel to local school sites for each session and arrive prepared.
