Job summary

Diversicare is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Coordinator in executing programs for residents. The role requires experience in long-term care, strong communication skills, and the ability to direct activities.

You will lead group activities and provide one-on-one support as needed. The ideal candidate will possess creativity and imagination, enabling them to engage residents in meaningful activities that promote well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience in long term care required, preferably in recreational setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents.
• Capability to direct and perform a variety of activities.
• Ability to motivate residents through direct activities.
• Skills in evaluating resident's progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Coordinator in executing the Activity Program.
• Lead group activities as assigned.
• Provide one-to-one activities for residents.
• Maintain attendance sheets on participants.
• Assist residents in attending activities.
• Communicate resident status to the Activity Coordinator.
• Arrange for special programs and group outings.
