Job summary

Marquette University is seeking an Assistant Engagement Director to coordinate programs that strengthen engagement among alumni, parents, and friends to support campaign opportunities. The role involves leading high-end and virtual programs from inception to execution, including planning, event coordination, volunteer management, and staffing benefactors and leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of event planning and volunteer management experience.
• Proven track record of strategic, entrepreneurial and creative success.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented culture.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships across a complex organization.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Budget oversight and management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage alumni volunteer groups to foster engagement and relationships with the university.
• Oversee events aligned with strategic priorities and affinity groups, including Reunion Weekend.
• Plan and execute programming across virtual and in-person formats with university partners.
• Lead event responsibilities: invitations, promotions, content, speakers, logistics, and post-event follow-up.
• Integrate university and campaign messages into event programming.
• Forecast events and budgetary needs.
• Maintain relationships with University Advancement, campus departments, alumni, parents and friends.
• Stay informed on university initiatives, research and programs.
• Attend university events and volunteer meetings, including evenings and weekends.
• Travel for programs around the country.
