Description

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Engagement Manager (EM) to join our Amazon Q Customer Success Team and own the delivery of complex Gen AI projects and programs. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with leadership to drive successful implementations of AWS-based solutions for our clients. You will bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate technical discussions, and ensure alignment with customer outcomes. Applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework, you will demonstrate technical credibility across diverse stakeholders, distill customer needs into clear technical requirements, decompose complex problems, and make informed trade-offs considering performance, scalability, security, and business impact.

Possessing strong technology and program/project management experience, you will validate technical solutions against business goals, recognize when additional technical evaluation is needed, and manage technical risks. You will be expected to achieve and maintain relevant AWS certifications, develop domain-specific expertise, and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and business audiences. As you progress, you'll lead increasingly complex technical projects, shape cross-organizational strategies, and establish best practices in your domain. You will apply your management capabilities to execute project plans, proactively manage risks, resolve issues, escalate when appropriate, and drive projects to successful completion while exceeding customer expectations.

The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize their business outcomes using AWS Cloud. We work with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud initiatives, providing tailored guidance through our specialty practices covering various solutions, technologies, and industries.

Key job responsibilities
  • Direct complex Gen AI proof-of-concepts, implementations, and enterprise adoption projects
  • Leverage comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices for strategic planning

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud computing
  • Experience managing technical programs/projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience with Gen AI, AI/ML, or enterprise SaaS implementations
  • 3+ years working directly with engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS experience preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices
  • Experience applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework
  • Proven ability to establish technical credibility with engineering teams and senior decision-makers
  • 3+ years in change management and organizational transformation
  • Experience directing AI/ML workloads architecture and implementation
