Job summary

New Narrative is a nonprofit in Portland, Oregon, focused on mental health as community care. We’re hiring a Communications & Engagement Coordinator to turn our impact into clear stories, plan community events, manage social media, and produce engaging communications.

The role works with the Development Director to align messaging with fundraising and outreach, coordinating content, calendars, vendors, and partner collaboration across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, nonprofit management or a related field preferred.
• Approximately 3 or more years of relevant experience in communications, events, community engagement or project management; nonprofit experience preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communications, storytelling & content development for priority organizational audiences and channels.
• Project-manage the Annual Report from content collection to distribution and archiving.
• Own the editorial calendar; manage newsletters and social media posts; maintain website and blog content.
• Coordinate support with vendors while retaining responsibility for timely publication.
• Lead communications and engagement for Give!Guide and other campaigns; manage partner deliverables.
