Job summary

FTI Consulting is seeking an Engagement Manager in Chicago to oversee the lifecycle of engagements, from matter setup and risk assessment to billing and collections. You will drive timely invoicing and optimize AR performance while collaborating with internal teams and clients to ensure accurate, professional invoices.

The role requires 5+ years in engagement management, strong Excel and PC/network skills, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

5+ years overall experience in engagement management, including billing and collections.
Excellent working knowledge of PC and network environments; advanced knowledge of Excel.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; employer will not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

Work closely with internal and client-facing teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure timely, accurate and professional invoices are prepared and sent to clients.
Reduce amount of time billable professionals invest in project management and administrative tasks.
Reduce DSO and bad debt.
Review new matters for assigned Engagement Leaders: ensure project setup aligns with LOE terms and set up activity codes.
Prepare draft invoice with LOE rate ranges and apply administrative fees.
Issue final invoice and distribute to client, with required approvals and audit backups.
Engagement management tasks including risk assessment and monthly close processes.
