Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management in Missouri seeks an Activity/Recreation Assistant to support the Activity/Recreation Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing activity services tailored to the needs and interests of the center’s patient population.

You will help develop programs to promote engagement in normal life enhancement pursuits, encourage participation in group and individual activities, and coordinate arts, crafts, outings, religious and educational activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with course work in recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved activity-training course is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and delivery of activity programs to promote engagement and maintain functioning levels.
• Maintain precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourage participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts and community outings.
• Perform miscellaneous work assignments as required.
