Job summary

Memspa seeks a Middle/High School Teacher dedicated to a non-traditional pedagogy based on Responsibility-Centered Discipline (RCD). You will design engaging instruction for Grades 6-12, differentiate for diverse learners, and maintain meticulous digital records.

The role emphasizes building positive relationships, promoting social-emotional supports, and partnering in ongoing professional growth through regular staff collaboration and PBIS-aligned practices.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsement in the core area (Middle/High School).
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated use of engagement strategies and differentiated instructional practices for secondary students.
• Knowledge of Responsibility-Centered Discipline (RCD) to manage classroom behavior.
• Ability to administer and evaluate tests and use data for instructional planning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in the assigned content area using a non-traditional, student-engaged approach.
• Develop and follow curriculum, plans, and mapping aligned with state standards.
• Provide differentiated instruction for varied student levels.
• Maintain digital records and communicate student progress weekly.
• Promote social-emotional supports and positive mental health activities.
• Model respectful, responsible behavior and establish a positive classroom climate.
• Document discipline, accommodations, and communication as required by policy.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development to support school goals.
