Job summary

RePublic Schools is seeking a Middle School English Teacher for Jackson, MS. You will design rigorous, standards-aligned English instruction in a 1:1 blended learning environment and serve as a content and grade-level expert to drive academic excellence.

You will set ambitious goals, monitor progress, analyze data, and provide actionable feedback. You’ll collaborate with teachers and leaders to support scholars' academic, social, and emotional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Valid state teaching license/certification (Tennessee or Mississippi), or commitment to enroll in an approved alternative certification program upon hire.
• Strong ability to navigate instructional technology and data systems.
• Ability to design and deliver instruction using a variety of digital tools and learning platforms.
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent, actionable feedback as part of a continuous improvement culture.
• Professionalism and emotional composure in high-pressure situations.
• Commitment to ongoing learning, growth, and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in English within a 1:1 blended learning environment.
• Serve as content and grade-level expert, grounding instruction in standards mastery.
• Set ambitious academic goals and monitor progress with actionable feedback.
• Analyze student data and develop targeted growth plans with leadership.
• Build strong relationships with scholars and families through proactive communication.
• Create a safe, structured, inclusive classroom environment.
• Meet professional deadlines for lesson planning, grading, and data analysis.
• Collaborate with teachers and leaders to ensure high expectations and consistency.
• Develop instructional practice through coaching cycles with the Academics Team and leadership.
• Perform additional duties as assigned for scholar success.
