Job summary

Axcelis Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Supply Chain Support) to investigate and resolve technical questions from our global supplier network, enabling production of Axcelis semiconductor equipment. You will read and interpret engineering drawings and interface with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Quality.

You’ll support outsourcing of machined parts and assemblies, answer vendor questions, coordinate cost reduction, and collaborate on design for manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or similar programs.
• Experience with basic engineering tools such as SolidWorks/Creo and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment such as calipers, hand tools, DMMs, etc.

Responsibilities

• Support outsourcing initiatives on machined parts, weldments, sheet metal, mechanical assemblies and cables/ wire harnessing.
• Answer vendor questions related to specifications on assemblies and parts being outsourced.
• Coordinate and support component cost reduction initiatives.
• Interface and collaborate with Design Engineering to correct drawings and/or offer ideas for Design for Manufacturability.
• Generate Change Notices to correct or improve Engineering documentation.
• Select replacement Components due to parts obsolescence.
• Investigate and select alternative parts to support critical supply chain issues.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Manufacturing Engineer (Supply Chain Support), you’ll investigate and resolve technical questions and issues from our network of worldwide suppliers providing parts to enable the production of Axcelis semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will gain familiarity with many types of mechanical and electrical components and learn to read and interpret engineering drawings. You will interface with many internal departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Quality.

What You’ll Do

• Support outsourcing initiatives on machined parts, weldments, sheet metal, mechanical assemblies and cables/ wire harnessing.

What We’re Looking For

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE$66,691.37 - $100,037.06This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based onmultiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, worklocation, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression asyou develop within the role.Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in theAxcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regularemployees working 20+ hours a week).
