The City of Dearborn Career Opportunities is seeking a part-time Enforcement Officer to work in the Police Department. This position involves enforcing local ordinances throughout the city, monitoring compliance, and patrol work across various areas including parks and parking lots.
Candidates must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License and be able to communicate effectively in English. A minimum of a high-school diploma or G.E.D. is required, along with the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

MINIMUM AGE: 18 years of age
Enforcement Officers work three shifts – day, afternoon & evening; rotating weekends are required. This year‑round position works 28 hours per week. Some holidays, snow emergencies and special events are required. Up to a four‑week in‑house training program will take place M‑Th 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (for all hires regardless of assigned shift). All shifts work rotating weekends.
This is limited authority, sworn public safety work enforcing local ordinances across the city including parks. The officer operates a police ordinance enforcement vehicle to respond to related parking complaints, patrol public streets and parks, city‑owned parking lots, parking meters, structures, commercial parking areas, and enforce local and parking ordinances. The position is also responsible for monitoring policy and procedure compliance, city code and blight ordinances, and will be subject to occasional abnormal work hours for snow emergencies, etc. This work falls under the general supervisor of the Ordinance Enforcement Coordinator and the CICSU Sergeant; however, the Enforcement Officer is expected to exercise independent judgment and initiative.
