Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. in Middletown, OH, seeks a Shift Manager Energy & Utilities to oversee energy systems across the site, including pumps, turbines, boilers, and water treatment.

You will coordinate daily production and maintenance, lead bargaining unit and contractor staff, drive safety programs, and ensure reliable 24/7 operations with on-call availability. The role offers a comprehensive total compensation package and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; a technical degree is preferred.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in the operation or maintenance of industrial systems.
• Ability to support a 24/7 operating environment, including on-call during nights and weekends.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience with strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving operational and mechanical issues in an industrial setting.
• Proven ability to ensure equipment availability and support preventative maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production and maintenance activities, ensuring repairs and upkeep are completed efficiently and within budget.
• Provide leadership to bargaining unit and contractor employees, including training on policies and safety standards.
• Lead safety initiatives, including pre-shift briefings, safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Monitor and communicate operational status to shifts and upper management.
• Support 24/7 operations by serving as the primary contact for critical equipment needs with on-call availability.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs on plant-wide water, gas, and air systems to ensure safe operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
