Job summary

Burns & McDonnell, in partnership with 1898 & Co., seeks an Energy & Utilities Analyst in Atlanta to assist with power system studies, financial analyses, and technical/Economic assessments for utility clients.

You will support planning studies, due diligence, and investment planning, contributing to both fossil and renewable projects while collaborating with project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of engineering and financial concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret engineering, financial and economic conditions for client projects.
• Assist with life-cycle cost analysis and economic forecasts.
• Support with regulatory-impacts analyses and technical assessments.
• Contribute to project design reviews and engineering drawings.
• Support power system planning, operation analysis, and reliability studies.
• Conduct engineering, economic, and financial studies for utility projects.
• Assist with transmission/distribution study analysis and software.
• Support renewable and fossil generation assessments.
• Prepare technical reports and client presentations.
• Support contract administration for design/planning of utility systems.
• Support Utility Consulting business lines as required.
