Job summary

The role involves evaluating forecasting methods, preparing written materials, and participating in industry meetings to identify trends affecting utility performance.

Qualifications

• One year as a Utility Energy and Conservation Analyst 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Energy Policy, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or Physical Sciences, and two years of utility energy related experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Report Analysis: Examine utility filings and documents to help determine if services are adequate and reliable
• Forecast Review: Assess the methods and data used by electric utilities when creating load forecasts for regional planning
• Document Preparation: Prepare written orders, reports, and memos on topics related to the energy industry
• Team Collaboration: Work with staff across the Bureau to support reviews and decisions related to utility operations
• Industry Evaluation: Actively participate in meetings, webinars, and teleconferences related to the energy industry and review information from energy stakeholders to identify issues and trends that affect utility forecasts and performance

Education

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Energy Policy, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or Physical Sciences
