Job summary

BMO Capital Markets is seeking a Senior Equity Research Associate or VP to join the Energy Transition & Infrastructure team. The role focuses on building financial models, analyzing energy infrastructure and renewables, and producing research for institutional clients in New York or Houston.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in equity research, strong financial skills, and a track record of delivering timely, high-quality research.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of equity research or relevant industry experience
• Strong accounting and finance skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to interact professionally with management teams and clients
• Proven track record of achievement and strong work ethic
• Wamiliar with energy infrastructure, renewables or related sectors is a plus

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed financial and valuation models (IS/BS/CF)
• Analyze financial statements and news
• Review filings (10-K/10-Q) and transcripts
• Write equity research reports and develop investment theses
• Use AI-enabled tools to boost research productivity
• Attend site visits, management meetings and industry events
• Maintain industry and company-level data for timely client products
• Communicate investment recommendations to clients and teams
• Develop tools to gather and analyze industry news
• Build relationships with industry and regulatory stakeholders
