Job summary

EDF seeks an Analyst, Energy Transition, to support the California cap-and-invest and related policies, conducting research and tracking developments to accelerate clean energy investments. The role will engage with stakeholders, regulators, and policymakers to advance climate and energy goals.

The analyst will synthesize complex policy information, write memos and white papers, and contribute to coalition-building and communications campaigns across EDF's Western U.S. initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant policy-related experience and an associate degree.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills for policy audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support development and refinement of EDF's advocacy strategy on energy transition policies.
• Assist in representing EDF in external forums with coalitions and media.
• Conduct timely in-house research and analysis of proposed regulations and legislation.
• Analyze emissions, health, economic, and equity outcomes of policies.
• Contribute to communications strategies to support advocacy goals.
• Collaborate with EDF colleagues across the organization and with external partners.
