Job summary
Jobot is seeking an experienced Power Trader/Risk Analyst in Houston to join its trading platform. The role requires strong commodity-market knowledge, quantitative analysis, and disciplined risk management to identify and execute profitable trading opportunities.
You will develop trading strategies, analyze market drivers, manage positions, and work with analytics, risk, operations and commercial teams to optimize profitability in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated industry experience in energy or related trading markets.
- Strong grasp of commodity-market fundamentals and price formation.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities.
- Experience turning market data into actionable commercial decisions.
- Understanding of trading risk and position management.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-moving commercial environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute trading strategies across energy markets.
- Analyze supply/demand, flows, pricing relationships, and other market drivers.
- Identify physical and/or financial trading opportunities.
- Manage trading positions and associated risk exposure.
- Monitor market developments and adjust positions as conditions change.
- Collaborate with analysts to develop actionable market views.
- Work with operations, risk, finance and other teams to realize opportunities.
- Evaluate new products and markets for profitability and risk.
- Maintain disciplined risk management across trading activity.
