Job summary

CLEAResult is seeking an Energy Technician III to perform on-site residential energy efficiency installations and verifications in New Jersey. You will assess customer needs, install upgrades, and ensure data is gathered per client specifications.

The role requires DOT compliance, ability to travel within a defined territory, and the potential for technician certification. This is a hands-on on-site position with opportunities for training and career growth.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in residential energy efficiency installations.
  • High school diploma or associate's degree; relevant industry technical certification or training preferred.
  • BPI Certified or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Install residential energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Conduct pre- and post-installation verifications and gather technical data.
  • Provide technical advice, guidance, and training on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement in accordance with client specifications.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and recommend solutions.
  • Travel throughout a defined territory.
  • Provide input and status updates to program staff regarding project scope, planning and product effectiveness.

Job description

Energy Technician III

Act as local on‑site program and company representative to residential customers.

Tasks include:

  • Install residential energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑installation verifications and gather technical data.
  • Provide technical advice, guidance, and training on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement in accordance with client specifications.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and recommend solutions.
  • Travel throughout a defined territory.
  • Provide input and status updates to program staff regarding project scope, planning and product effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in residential energy efficiency installations.

Requirements
  • Meet all applicable DOT qualification requirements and comply with federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Must pass pre‑employment checks.
Compensation

Hourly: $25.00 – $37.50 USD, based on internal equity, market data, experience, and qualifications.
