Redwood Materials is seeking a Solutions Engineer for energy storage to bridge commercial and engineering with customers. The role involves initial system design, site integration, and translating customer needs into actionable specs.

Travel to customer sites and collaboration with engineering are essential to scale the business. The ideal candidate has a design or applications engineering background, strong communication, and the ability to work autonomously while supporting technical proposals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Hands-on, 'get it done' mindset with willingness to travel to a customer site.
• Ability to operate autonomously and make technical/product decisions with minimal guidance.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of time.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to represent Redwood's capabilities externally.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource in customer conversations including on-site visits and feasibility discussions.
• Work with customers on initial system design concepts, site integration requirements, and project scoping, translating needs into technical specs and clear expectations.
• Support commercial proposal development including SLDs, system layouts, technical specs, and inputs to pricing and capacity models.
• Build and maintain deep expertise in Redwood's energy storage products and serve as the go-to technical resource for the commercial team.
• Partner with engineering teams to surface customer feedback, flag capability gaps, and inform the development roadmap.
• Enable the commercial team to operate independently on technical matters as Redwood scales.
