Energy Storage Project Finance Analyst (Analyst to Associate level)


Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)


This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture with strong private equity backing focused on the development, execution, and operations of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, having accumulated over 9GW of projects in a relatively short period, and are currently expanding their Project Finance Team.


The incumbent needs to have strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding or ability to quickly learn the financial nuances involved in utility-scale renewables development, EPC, and operational transactions. Candidates must have SOLID FINANCIAL MODELING and DEBT/EQUITY STRUCTURING experience.


Applicants should demonstrate the ability to communicate key project finance initiatives clearly to various stakeholders. The scope of work includes project development, origination, interconnection/power markets, EPC, and construction financing transactions. Exposure to off-take strategies, tax equity structures, and complex energy infrastructure project bidding processes is STRONGLY PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across the organization on financial modeling initiatives supporting utility-scale battery storage projects nationwide across ISOs/RTOs.
  • Own and manage financial models related to renewable project off-take, bidding, debt/equity structuring, project sales, and tax incentives.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop financial analysis and forecasting tools for corporate financing, capital markets, FP&A, and project financing assessments.
  • Review and enhance financial analytic processes to mitigate risks, staying informed on macroeconomic trends affecting the industry and US Power Markets.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Power, Renewables, Capital Markets, or Energy Infrastructure transactions.
  • Strong project finance modeling expertise in Microsoft Excel and debt/equity structuring.
  • Experience with complex debt/equity structures, tax equity transactions, and advanced project finance deal execution is STRONGLY preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex formulas clearly to stakeholders.
  • Ability to participate in, or quickly learn to participate in, advanced discussions in utility-scale renewables, transmission, and storage sectors.
  • Understanding of US energy power markets (PJM, ERCOT, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO) is beneficial but NOT required.
