Job summary

Peak Energy is seeking a Project Development Manager to drive utility-scale energy storage project development from permitting through interconnection, offtake, construction and commissioning. You will own a portfolio across development stages, securing land, obtaining permits, and coordinating interconnection while building relationships with landowners and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, Energy, or related field.
• 3-5 years of utility-scale renewable energy project development experience.
• Experience advancing projects from site control through NTP, permitting, interconnection, and stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of zoning, permitting, and environmental review at county/state level.
• Understanding of power markets, site feasibility, and project economics.
• Familiarity with budgeting/scheduling tools like Smartsheet/Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication with communities, regulators, landowners.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle project execution from site identification to interconnection and commissioning.
• Manage schedules, budgets, and financial model inputs for commercial viability.
• Own stakeholder engagement with landowners, officials, and permitting agencies.
• Oversee permitting/compliance across local, state, and federal requirements.
• Track landowner payments, contractual requirements, deadlines, and reporting.
• Manage third-party consultants and internal development teams.
• Support construction/commissioning and ensure smooth development-to-execution transition.
• Track/report progress with budgets, schedules, and risk registers for leadership.
• Drive interconnection strategy and coordinate with ISOs/RTOs.
• Represent Peak externally with utilities, EPCs, and development partners.
