Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. in the United States seeks a remote Energy Storage Preconstruction Project Manager to lead a project from planning through closeout. You’ll coordinate engineering, scheduling, budgeting, and procurement across teams, ensuring design constraints are understood and long‑lead items are released on time.

You will guide cost control, procedures, and risk mitigation while representing the company in owner meetings and ensuring accurate reporting. Travel ~25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Energy Storage Construction experience.
• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience.
• Field experience (5-8 years) as Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.

• Supervise and train Preconstruction Project Engineers and clerical staff
• Collaborate with business development, engineering, accounting, construction, and legal to create contract scopes of work
• Work with Engineering and Procurement to manage design constraints and lead times for long lead items
• Research and understand project design requirements (internal/owner/contract/permit requirements)
• Liaise with Engineering Manager to track changes impacting schedule or budget
• Represent SOLV Energy in owner meetings
• Support estimating reconciliation for each design iteration
• Maintain reporting to Project Team and management (cost forecasting, EAC)
• Manage project risk and mitigation plans with operations management
• Develop relationships with Owners, Engineers, Vendors, Subcontractors; build partnerships while preserving owner rights
• Travel estimated at 25%

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. The Energy Storage Preconstruction Project Manager will provide leadership and oversight to an individual project. They will collaborate with multiple departments in planning, organizing, and directing the project work across our team, including engineering, scheduling, change management, budgeting, and closeout project documentation. This role is fully remote. This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; Able to perform all Preconstruction Project Manager job responsibilities.

• Maintain cost control ledger and job cost statements
• Write project procedures
• Supervise and train Preconstruction Project Engineers and clerical staff
• Collaborate with the business development, engineering, accounting, construction, and legal departments to create contract scopes of work
• Work with Engineering and Procurement to understand design constraints and material lead-times to ensure long lead procurement items are appropriately released during the LNTP phase
• Research and understand project specific design requirements (internal requirements, owner/contract requirements, and permit requirements)
• Liaison with the Engineering Manager to track changes that impact project schedule and/or budget and provide those changes to the Project Executive
• Represent SOLV Energy in owner meetings
• Support estimating reconciliation for each design iteration
• Maintain timely and accurate reporting to the Project Team and management, specifically cost forecasting and estimated cost at completion
• Effectively manage project risk; evaluate probability and severity of risk events as they are identified / anticipated and prepare mitigation plans with project team operations management
• Develop and maintain good relationship with Owner, Engineers, Vendors and Subcontractors; develop strategies and skills to build a strong partnership with the Owner, while still ensuring prompt owner notification of impacts and preservation of rights under the EPC
• Able to travel (estimated 25%)

Minimum 3 years of Energy Storage Construction Experience.

• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience
• Field experience (5-8 years, Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent)
• Leadership ability – able to pull together team members from diverse backgrounds in a remote environment and organize them into a cohesive, high-performing project team
• Strong computer skills with MS Office suite, as well as other industry-standard tools, such as Bluebeam Revu
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
