Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Apprentice I to assist with utility-scale projects, ensuring safety and compliance with electrical regulations while training under a journey-level electrician. Responsibilities include installing, repairing, and maintaining energy equipment.

The role involves measuring, cutting, bending wires, using hand tools, and working under close supervision with opportunities to learn electrical trades and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some construction and/or electrical experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations and blueprints.
• Must be able to work with power and non-powered hand tools.
• Willingness to follow instructions and ask questions.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using various hand tools.
• Safely use hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.).
• Lift, position, and fasten objects.
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools for electrical trades.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment.
• Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and procedures.
• Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Pull DC and MV wire and perform other duties as assigned.
