Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Engineer I & II in the Energy Storage group to translate owner’s project expectations into design drawings, specifications, and schedules, coordinating with staff at all levels. This role offers two levels and compensation based on experience and location.

Base pay ranges: I $84,100–$113,500; II $93,400–$126,100. Locations: Denver, CO; San Antonio, TX; Minneapolis, MN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field or equivalent.
• Strong teamwork, communication, problem-solving and leadership.
• Detail orientation to manage multiple tasks.
• Understand construction law and standard practices.
• Intermediate skills in MS Office and Project.

Responsibilities

• Support scope, budget, and schedule alignment for projects.
• Create and manage project budgets, milestones, and communications.
• Coordinate BIM/VDC integration during design phase.
• Assist in regulatory approvals and permitting.
• Prepare bid packages and assist with proposals.
• Track LEED requirements and ensure constructability.
